Driving around Larnaca is a great way to travel around the island of Cyprus and many places are worth a visit nearby. Popular choices close to Larnaca include Mazotos and Limassol to the south-west, both of which enjoy a coastal setting and contain a host of recreational activities based around the waterfront. Directly north you will find Nicosia, which is referred to locally as Lefkosia and is the island's capital city, being home to a high concentration of shops and restaurants.

As with the UK, when driving in Larnaca and Cyprus as a whole, stay on the left and overtake on the right. All of the roads and highways around the country are of a high standard and well signposted, using international traffic signs.
Parking spaces in central Larnaca, both municipal and private, can be found in good supply and are extremely cheap, often being charged per hour or half day. Street parking is also available, with much of this being metered. Be sure not to park in any restricted areas, in controlled zones or on stretches marked with zig-zags.
